Primary School Boy's Reading Difficulties Helped With EFT

This first case study is on reading difficulties and it involves a child in primary school.

There was a lot of trauma around reading and schooling from an early age and he was extremely anxious about doing a presentation at school the following day.

It was the day before his presentation so there was not a lot of time.

I asked his mother a few questions about how his anxiety was showing up physically and how it made him feel and decided to put down an audio to send through so he could tap before school.

So how was it affecting him?

Physical Symptoms of Reading Difficulties

John said he felt butterflies and sick in the tummy whenever he has to do a presentation. This made him tap his foot nervously and all he wanted to do was “run away to a safe place”.

Like all kids with learning difficulties, John said he felt scared to read out loud in front of the class because he was worried people would find out he couldn’t read (although he read beautifully to his parents the night before).

Of course this was affecting his self confidence, so he would do any other activity he could to avoid school work.

John listened to the audio and tapped that morning with his mum, but of course you never know how effective it is until it’s put to the test.

Well I’m pleased to say John did very well with his presentation that day.

As a matter of fact, he had a very positive day and was even congratulated by his teachers and the principal! That night he picked up a book and read 5 pages, commenting that he likes reading -- what a turn around!

John also told his mum he felt better after doing EFT.
